Market Pulse 12/22: Tug of war at opening
The stock market opened with a tug-of-war. At 9:40, VN-Index increased slightly by 0.5 points to 1,103.05 points. HNX-Index increased by 0.5 points to 229.04.
At the close of December 21, the Dow Jones index increased by 322.35 points (equivalent to 0.87%) to 37,404.35 points and the Nasdaq Composite added 1.26% to 14,963.87 points. The S&P 500 advanced 1.03% to 4,746.75 points, only about 1% away from the record closing level. Will this positive development spread to the Vietnamese market?
The group of securities stocks is being traded more actively than the general market, led by SSI (HM:SSI). SSI increased by nearly 2% with the trading volume leading the whole market.
In the construction group, CTD (HM:CTD) performed well with an increase of 3%.
DRC rubber stock (HM:DRC) is also increasing by more than 3%, leading this group of stocks.
