In the changing digital transformation picture of Vietnam, the name Eric Vuong – Chairman of HVA Group stands out as a pioneering icon. He is not only known as a successful businessman, but is also called by investors as the "architect" of many digital financial projects, contributing to laying the foundation for Vietnam's digital asset ecosystem.
From Pharmacist to Fintech: A Bold Start
Born in 1984 in Can Tho and graduated with a degree in Pharmacy from Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Eric Vuong's career path seemed to be tied to healthcare. However, instead of choosing safety, he turned to Fintech - a field that was almost unexplored in Vietnam in the 2000s.
In 2009, he founded TrustPay JSC, starting with the product TRUSTcard - a prepaid card in cooperation with Visa and Sacombank, helping hundreds of thousands of Vietnamese people access modern financial services for the first time. By 2016, TrustPay continued to pioneer with technology Tap&Pay, bringing contactless payment (NFC) to Vietnam. While the habit of using cash still prevails, Eric Vuong has proven himself as a founder who dares to be ahead of the times.

Blockchain and digital asset ecosystem turning point
2018 marked another bold decision when Eric Vuong turned to blockchain, co-founding VNDC, the first fiat-backed stablecoin in Vietnam. Just one year later, VNDC Wallet was born, paving the way for the application of digital assets in life.
By 2020, VNDC Wallet will be restructured into ONUS, a digital asset trading and investment application for the masses, with the philosophy of “investing for everyone”. After 18 months, ONUS has reached 1.6 million accounts, and by 2025, it aims to reach more than 6 million users in at least 6 countries. ONUS’ presence in Europe, through operating licenses in Lithuania (2022) and the Czech Republic (2023), has affirmed the global ambition of the Vietnamese entrepreneur.

HVA Group, FundGo, HanaGold and international vision
In 2020, Eric Vuong officially became Chairman of HVA Group, bringing the listed company on HNX – UPCoM into blockchain and digital asset strategy. This is an important turning point, affirming the central role of HVA Group in the ecosystem he built.
In parallel, in 2022 he co-founded FundGo – a creative startup investment fund in Can Tho. FundGo not only provides capital, but also provides legal support, governance and market connection, supporting many startups in technology, healthcare, education, and agriculture. One of the typical projects that FundGo has invested in is HanaGold – gold digitization platform using blockchain, opening a new direction for the traditional jewelry industry.

Not only stopping domestically, Eric Vuong also made his mark internationally. Since 2018, TrustPay has had a strategic partnership with Vemanti Group (USA)By 2025, after the ONUS Pro merger with XPLOR Technology (Singapore), he became Chairman of Vemanti Group, a US-listed corporation. This is clear evidence of the position of Vietnamese enterprises on the global financial map.
Vision for the digital financial era
In the context of the Vietnamese National Assembly just passing Digital Technology Industry Law and a pilot legal framework for digital assets, Eric Vuong and HVA Group is facing a great opportunity to lead. With the advantage of combining traditional Fintech and blockchain, along with the ecosystem ONUS – HVA – FundGo – HanaGold, he not only created successful businesses, but also built a sustainable development foundation for Vietnam's digital economy.
From a small startup in Can Tho, Eric Vuong's journey has gone global. It is not only the story of a brave businessman, but also a testament to the daring spirit of the Vietnamese generation of entrepreneurs in the new era.
“Business success cannot be measured by revenue alone, but by the number of people who benefit from access to finance, education and investment opportunities.” – Eric Vuong, Chairman of HVA Group
