Regarding the US stock market situation: The US stock market had mixed developments in the trading session on Wednesday. In particular, the S&P 500 index decreased by 1.39% to 5,588.27 points. The Nasdaq index decreased by 2.77% to 17,996.92 points. In contrast, the Dow Jones index increased by 0.59% to 41,198.08 points.
Regarding the US Treasury bond situation: The yield on the 10-year US Treasury bond remains at 4.16%.
Regarding the Dollar Index situation: The Dollar Index decreased by 0.53%, down to 103.75 points after comments from some FED officials showed that the possibility of interest rate cuts is increasing in the near future.
Regarding the Gold situation: World gold prices turned down slightly after a record session with spot gold falling 10.3 USD, down to 2,457.8 USD/ounce. Gold futures last traded down 10.6 USD compared to early this morning, down to 2,463 USD/ounce.
Regarding the commodity market situation: At the end of yesterday's trading session, oil prices unexpectedly increased by about 2% due to a stronger-than-expected decrease in US oil inventories and the weakness of the US dollar. Brent oil prices increased by 1.35 USD, equivalent to 1.6%, to 85.08 USD/barrel. WTI oil prices increased by 2.09 USD, equivalent to 2.6%, to 82.85 USD/barrel.
